A technical note: you may have noticed that your podcast app re-downloaded a bunch of old episodes last week. We moved the server that hosts The Next Track to HTTPS, and this seems to have treated all existing episodes as new. So we’re very sorry for any extra bandwidth you may have used. Note that iTunes also seems to have redownloaded them, so you may have duplicate audio files for some episodes; check your media folder to make sure.

  • Kirk, how do you recommend finding out about limited-edition Grateful Dead releases? I usually find out about things like that a month or two after they’re sold out.

For future reference, these are the other shows Kirk mentioned as the three best-known along with 5/8/77: 2/14/70 and 8/27/72.

    • You need to sign up for emails on the Grateful Dead website. And you need to act quickly; they sell out generally within 24 or 48 hours.
